The nursing staff consists of State Tested Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses. These layers of nursing work together to create the best possible care.
The entire facility is overseen by Erin Dotson, the Director of Nursing, who has 15 years experience in healthcare. Erin got her start in healthcare as a pharmacy technician in the United States Air Force. She obtained her LPN license in 1993 from Central School of Practical Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. She went on to obtain her Associates Degree in Nursing from Regent’s College in New York and her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan.
Each nursing unit is overseen by a Care Coordinator. These positions are held by nurses (RN or LPN) who possess leadership qualities, such as confident decision-making skills, organizational skills, clinical proficiency based on current best practices, a spirit for education and a love for the elderly.
The front line staff consists of LPNs, RNs and STNAs who truly long to have a relationship with the people they care for. They must all possess current licensure or certification in their field. They spend the larger part of their day interacting with the residents and their families.
All nursing staff are required by the facility to participate in ongoing education programs. We have a strong value for education, which is evident in the hours that are dedicated to formal education, skills labs and CPR training.
